Microsoft’s Dharmesh Mehta on an interview with CNET broke out the latest Hotmail update which is now including the most awaited IMAP features for Hotmail and is expected to go live this current week, no words may be from today or next day for all Hotmail account holders.

Actually IMAP settings for Hotmail allows you to access your account from Apple iPhone/iPod touch devices or any web enable cellphone via ActiveSync. If previously you are in use with ActiveSync to connect to Microsoft Exchange Server then you may not be able to get a connection for your Hotmail account.

IMAP feature for Hotmail will be more useful on relatively many cellphones including smartphones that support ActiveSync accounts from iPhone’s, Palm Pre and upcoming Windows 7- based devices.
