First of all you have to download Android 2.1.pkg file and rename it to update.pkg

Copy the recently downloaded & renamed file update.pkg to the root directory of your memory card.

Now while pressing Volume Up/Down button, switch on the device back.

Your device will redirect your to recovery mode rather than normal startup.

While in recovery mode, select second option.

Id stick with your classic ipod. I only have to look at mine to find a song. With the touch you have to look at the screen for everything you do. Everything is just much easier with the classic. You might end up in a wreck with the touch. ha
