The new firmware update from Apple is iOS 4.1 and its later upcoming iOS 4.2 includes the Game Center feature which is currently supported by the new iPhone 4. Well if you are not an iPhone 4 user, you can still install Game Center on iPhone 3G which needs and updated iOS 4.1 firmware. However you can refer to my previous post where i have explained How to jailbreak iOS 4.1 & iOS 4.2 on iPhone 3G / iPod Touch 2G with redsnow 0.9.6b1.

ou have to jailbreak your iPhone 3G in order to run Game Center on it. Well if you have jailbroken you iPhone 3G, now its time to install Game Center, follow my step to step guide below :

How to install Game Center on iPhone 3G :

Step 1: Jailbreak your iPhone 3G using Redsnow 0.9.6b1 or any tool other you like.

Step 2: Download the Game Center app from MediaFire or MegaUpload, and extract it.

Step 3: Open Cydia and search for Open SHSH, install Open SHSH and reboot your phone.

Step 4: After reboot, connect your iPhone 3G with computer (Don’t run iTunes).

Step 5: Important : Download and install Cyberduck for Mac and WinSCP for windows.

Now enter the following details in order to log in to your iPhone:

Cyberduck login settings for Mac

* Server: The IP address of your iPhone.
[Settings] >> [WiFi] >> “Your Network Name”
* Username: root
* Password: alpine
* Protocol: SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol)

WinSCP login settings for Windows

* Hostname: The IP address of your iPhone.
[Setting] >> [WiFi] >> “Your Network Name”
* User name: root
* Password: alpine
* Protocol: SCP

Step 6: After  successful login to your phone, navigate to /private/var/stash/Applications directory and paste your Game Center.app folder in it.

Step 7: Go to Game Center.app properties, right click on the folder, click info and set permission to ‘755

Step 8: Now, navigate to /system/libary/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/ directory and keep a backup of N82AP.plist file (save it on your desktop).

Step 9: Now select the following functions which you want to be active:

* Folder GameCenter
Only activates Game Center
* Folder Multitasking e GameCenter
Activates Game Ceter with Multitasking
* Folder Sfondi e GameCenter
Activates Background with GameCenter
* Folder sfondi, Multitasking e GameCenter
This option Enables Multitasking, Background, GameCenter

Step 10: Drag and drop the N82AP.plist file replacing the old one to a folder you have chosen in step 9.

Step 11: Next, navigate to System/Libary/LaunchDeamons/ directory and drag and drop the com.apple.gamed.plist into the same directory.

Step 12: Navigate to usr/libexec/ directory where you have to drag and drop game file and set its permission to ‘755

Step 13: In the end, save all your settings and reboot your iPhone 3G.

Now your iPhone 3G iOS 4.1 firmware has a Game Center installed and enjoy the latest gaming experience on iPhone 3G.
