Apple has recently submitted a new Patent Application 20100312817 which indicates that the company is looking to allow app sharing between iOS devices. The Patent details is such a way the mechanics of a system for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad devices that could push application in between iOS devices using peer-to-peer connection.
The patent is developed in a sense that the shared games would use some tricky codes and instructions from the developer to set some rules and restrictions as number of times the game is allowed to be shared, how to long it can be on sharing mode, and number of playable levels while the game is in sharing mode.
Other features mentioned in the patent include one for users who are public and on a shared networks for example a WiFi network in a restaurant can leave behind the applications for upcoming users to be discovered. Apple has also detailed a method for developers to reward the sharers of the app with cash commission or some useful coupon codes for future purchase.
