I was surprised listening to the news when one of my friend informed me about the price drop of iPhone 3GS. I confirmed the news from Apple store and found that Apple has really dropped the price of the previous generation iPhone 3GS and is now open for sale at $49 with 2 years mobile contract.

The price drop news popped too short as we were expecting Verizon Wireless to come up with Verizon iPhone, it might be an attempt from AT&T to bound customers with latest two year contract before Verizon starts selling new iPhone.

Well the news is still not clear with Verizon, either they are selling 3GS version parallel with iPhone 4, although it is more expected that iPhone 4 will be on sale and we won’t see any other iPhone model until unless the latest iPhone 5 jumps into the market.
