Nokia E7 : Appearance/Design
If the beauty exclusively embodied the screen depth, Nokia E7 could stand on first for Miss Handset competition, leaving behind it competitors the iPhone, HTC Desire S and also Sony Ericsson Xperia Play.
On the front is a 4-inch AMOLED ClearBlack capacitive touch-screen display which boosts a full QWERTY keyboard underneath the screen. The sleek smart phone is groomed with aluminum casing which offers a pleasant touch in hand. The phone is under 14mm thick, but its is better lightweight according to the size and depth.
Above on the main screen is a front facing VGA camera for video calls, Nokia logo in center, light-sensor and an ear piece. The bottom of the screen has a single physical button for going back to the home screen and to open up the menu screen.
At the back, Nokia E7 houses a camera capable of capturing images upto 8MP and a stereo speaker space. Further the image quality is enhanced by dual LED flash lights to maximize the image quality in dark, uncertain conditions.
The right hand side has a dedicated camera button, almost every Nokia phone comprises of, a sliding SIM card insertion jack, and a sliding volume adjust button which also acts as a shortcut to access the flashlight place at the back of the phone.
Coming to the left hand side, there is only a single sliding button which activates the phone from sleep mode (unlock) and place back the phone to sleep mode (lock).
The top most part of the phone have multiple insertion ports including a microUSB port, HDMI output port and a 3.5mm multimedia jack port.
Nokia E7 : Processor
Under the hood lies the heart of the phone, Nokia E7 boosts with a 680MHz ARM 11 processor, the processing power is very well adjusted according to the apps in the phone. I couldn’t find any memory hungry app for the phone which is less then its processing power. Nokia E7 has a 256MB RAM and 1024MB ROM enough for the phone, during our play we could find any lag issues or more, well it is quite stable.
Nokia E7 : Applications
Nokia E7 comes with few factory installed applications namely:
- mail for Exchange
- Quick office dynamic premium
- Adober PDF Reader
- F-Secure Anti-theft software
- Ovi Maps with Free GPS navigation system
- PC application
- Nokia Ovi Suite and Ovi Player
Nokia E7 : Multimedia/Camera/Video
Here comes the most disappointing part of the phone, although it has a 8MP rear camera with dual LED flash light. What i experienced is when we take a snap in any condition either it is day light or normal the image gets blur, could not figure out the main issue, i even have checked out the camera settings but all went in vain. The issue was same blur photos and could not believe the result of 8MP. Apart from this, it has a face recognition software, photo editor, auto location tagging etc. Some of the random snaps taken from E7:
Nokia E7 video mode is quite good compared with the still image shoot, you can record your video in
HD version – Best quality for playback on high definition displays.
MP4 version – Best quality for playback in 4:3 aspect ratio.
3GP – Limited video clip size for sending via multimedia message.
This is a HD(720p) version video quality of Nokia E7:
Nokia E7 : Keyboard
The essential part of the phone, Nokia E7 keyboard is the best thing which can be remembered with the phone. Simply a great keyboard with awesome keystroke, the off-center spacebar – it just works great with fingers. The keyboard have been adjusted quit well under the screen, when the slider lifts up the screen the phone looks gorgeous and brings a perfect way to watch movies and videos. You can perform some good tasks with lift up slider.
Nokia E7 : Battery Life
According to the phone the battery timings are relatively better than previous Nokia models. Nokia E7 comprises of BL-4D 1200MAh ion battery which provides a talk time on GSM upto 9hours and WCDMA/3G gives upto 5hours. The standby time on GSM is 430 hours and WCDMA/3G gives upto 470 hours, that’s quite enough.

Lovely Slider with Qwerty Keyboard.
E-series are particular dedicated business phones, yes you can use if you are still not a business man
As far as camera is concerned I have hardly found any Nokia phone with good camera.
Looking for the time when Nokia will leave its retarded Symbian platform.
