According to the latest statistics from Twitter, there are about 140,000,000 active users and over 340,000,000 Tweets posted each day! That means that when it comes to advertising your blog on Twitter, you need to stand out. One way to do this is to personalize your Twitter homepage. Here are a few ways to do that:

The Essentials: Link, Bio, and Picture

First, it’s absolutely essential that you do the basics of personalizing your Twitter homepage. Make sure your page links to your blog’s main page. You may not get a ton of traffic to your blog through this particular link, and the nofollow designation means it won’t help you with Google rankings either. However, it does keep your brand consistent, and it might draw you a new reader here and there.
Of course, you also need to change your bio and your picture to something that is personal to you and your blog. Your picture should either be of yourself or of something related to your blog so that people will know what you’re blogging about. A custom-designed logo as your picture is a great, professional-looking option!

Change Your Background

Changing the background on your Twitter homepage to something more personal isn’t quite as important as creating a custom header if you want a professional-looking blog, but it’s still an important way that you can personalize your homepage. There are several options for personalizing your homepage through a new background.

One option is to upload a photo of yourself or a photo you’ve taken, but you can also use desktop backgrounds meant for PCs. The problem with these is that users with a lower screen resolution may not be able to see the whole background. At the very least, you’ll want to consider how the background will look if a user’s view of it is truncated.

One final option is specialized Twitter backgrounds from the web. If you want a really sleek design, consider hiring a designer to make you a custom background specially tailored to Twitter requirements. A background that is like your blog header in style and colors can be a particularly good option.

Change the Theme

If you’re changing your Twitter background, then change your theme to go along with it. The theme will change the colors of different boxes and pieces of text on your Twitter homepage. It’s possible with some programming knowledge to create a custom theme, but it may be simpler to just pick out a theme that will work with your Twitter background colors.

Make the Sidebar Transparent

If your Twitter homepage background has some really neat images that you want your followers to be able to see, you can actually make the sidebar on your homepage transparent so that they can see the full background image behind it. This is a great way to customize your homepage if you’re linking up your Twitter background with the images found on your blog.
You can make your sidebar transparent by going through the settings menu and changing the color of the sidebar. If you are going to make your sidebar transparent, you’ll definitely want to make sure you can read the words over your background image. This works best when a background image isn’t overly busy, and when the text on the sidebar is highly contrasted with the background image.

Should You Hire a Pro?

As with your actual blog, when it comes to Twitter, design is less important than content, but it’s still important. If you’re a professional blogger or are really serious about your blog, chances are likely that you’ve at least toyed with the idea of hiring a professional to create buttons and a header for your blog. If you already have a professional design for your blog, you might want to carry that over into Twitter, since it can help solidify your brand and make all your online content more coherent.

Whether or not you hire a professional, you should still most definitely make sure that you’ve got the essentials of your Twitter homepage customized, and you should consider matching the theme with your blog. These things make you look more polished and can only help you when it comes to connecting with your readers through Twitter. Don’t forget to follow iTechGiz on Twitter.

Ashyia Hill is a social media advocate at CreditDonkey. Small business owners can visit her team’s blog to compare credit cards by reading their reviews and deals. While you certainly don’t have to hire a professional to take care of customizing your Twitter homepage, if it’s something you think will serve your bottom line, you can look at credit card deals to cover some of the cost of getting a professionally designed Twitter background or theme. A business credit card can have some good benefits for your business and can help you kickstart something like a great Twitter feed by giving you a little more flexibility in your business-related spending.

It would be better to called it “technological” rather “technical”; the difference between the two and one of the latest computer processors, the Core i5 and Core i7. Basically, the Core i5 is said to be conventional version of Core i7. Both have significant difference in terms of technicalities and technological advancements. Here you can find the details regarding differences between both these computer processors. However, Core i5 hasn’t come up with latest architecture rather it is representing the “Nehalem architecture.”

Following are the technical differences or you can say technological difference between both these fast computer processors.

New LGA1156 Socket

The new LGA1156 is said to be the main technological, as well as technical difference between Core i5 and Core i7. Mechanically, Core i5 has come up with this new LGA1156 socket, whereas in Core i7, the old socket LGA1366 still has been used by the manufacturer. A new chip set “P55” has been used in the LGA1366 socket for smooth and better performance. User can have the good computing experience by using CPU with these latest technology computer processors. Although, the LGA1366 socket along with the “P55” new chip set can not able to create some kind of measurable difference in the overall performance of the processor but the price can play its part on behalf of extending the number of buyers.

Currently Intel Corporation is taking necessary steps towards the prices reduction by considering two new chip sets, that is “H55” and “Q57” would going to be used in the Intel Core i5 600 processors. This step towards introducing new chip sets and prices reduction can have significant impact on the overall corporate sales of the company by increasing the buyers in the market against demand of the product. This would say a “bold step” towards performance improvement along with cost reduction.

Modification in the Turbo Mode

So far, the major performance immunisation in Core i5 has been the modification in the turbo mode, watch this core i5 processing video. In customer choice, Core i5 has been the better option just because of the reason that it come up with an accelerator stock speed in between 2.66GHz to 3.2 GHz. This is said to be an unbeatable change in the both Core i5 and Core i7 processors.

Inclusion of Dual Channel Memory

As Core i7 was only capable of handling a triple-channel memory, so most of the computer users didn’t find it feasible who mostly required less to have RAM. But on the other side, Core i5 gives the comfort as well as flexibility to the users to buy or purchase with couple f Ram slots as and when they required. Basically, Core i5 if fully functional and equipped with a Dual Channel Memory. Also, this doesn’t cause any significant impact on the overall performance of the processor.

Hyperactive Threading Mechanism

An Intel mechanism to encourage additional cores for better performance is known as Hyper-threading. It is truly a remarkable performance booster. Although, out of some Core i5 versions, there are most of the products which do not support this amazing mechanism resulting lack of good performance seen in those products.

Conclusion

Lastly, both have significant difference in terms of technicalities and technological advancements. Here you can find the details regarding differences between both these computer processors. However, Core i5 hasn’t come up with latest architecture rather it is representing the “Nehalem architecture.”

The day i bought Nokia N9 and showed to my friends, the very first thing they said was this is Nokia Lumia 800 and i was just surprised as we don’t have Lumia editions here in our local market. A little researched on Google made me clear that Nokia introduced this device with Nokia N9 name tag (this was for Middle East/Asia Pacific) and in European and US markets it was named as Nokia Lumia 800.

Well a basic difference between N9 & Lumia 800 is N9 comes on MeeGo operating system where as Lumia is on Windows 7.5 a.k.a Mango. Here is a quick review to a brilliant device which i have got hand’s on experience.

Nokia N9 Specifications:

The official nokia n9 press release from Nokia Pakistan confirms the features as listed below:

A MeeGo Operating System,
A 3.9" AMOLED touchscreen,
8 Megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics
16/64 GB built-in memory
Dolby Digital Plus decoding
Dolby Headphone
Availabe Colors: Black, Cyan & Magenta
Free GPS application included (Drive app)

Nokia N9 : Design

Nokia N9 is a beautiful awesome looking phone with sleek and stylish design, however its much like its predecessor the Nokia N8 (check iTechGiz Nokia N8 previous post here). However the design was some how very much like the previous model but you cannot say it is complete from the previous design as N8 comes with a home screen button and QWERTY keyboard underneath the screen, whereas N9 is a complete button-less phone on main screen.

Nokia N9 : Software

Also called the successor to Nokia N900, N9 runs on MeeGo 1.2 Harmattaan and it the very first phone of its kind manufactured by Nokia carrying MeeGo OS. It was no doubt a promising open-source OS available (as N900 carries MeeGo 5) but the growing technology and OS competition will radically put it aside or it would have to be so powerful to climb up the competition.

Nokia N9 is undeniably comes with excellent software that consumes its hardware efficiently. The 1GHz Cortex A8, TI OMAP 3630 chipset processor runs like a fluid even on multiple applications running. This is a single core processor which truly supports multi-tasking capabilities.

Nokia N9 : Design

Nokia Lumia 800 borrowed the design of Nokia N9 with slight changes that too minimal to accept. The most inspiring this was the concept of no button on screen surprised me when i hold the phone and was just wondering how could we go back to home screen. Here is the introduction of new feature called Nokia Swipe, It just like swiping your finger end to end on screen and your would be directed towards home screen. Nokia N9 comes with only 3 hardware button i.e. Volume up, volume down and power button all placed on right hand side of the phone.

Nokia N9 : Features

The absence of physical button on Nokia N9 did ‘not cost any problem to me all it require a SWIPE on the phone to navigate between home screen, apps and task manager. In-order to exit an app you need to swipe your finger edge to edge and it will bring you to the home screen. In order to wake up your device from lock mode is to double tap on display screen, well you need to remember some tricks when using the device.

Other than swipe, Nokia N9 also comes with NFC (Near Field Communication) technology, which is indeed a future technology for pairing devices. With just "bump" or "touch" of two devices, certain action could be performed such as sharing of photo’s, songs broadcasting songs to NFC-enable speakers or even transacting payments, playing multi-player games and many many more. I assume N9 is proud to endowed with this amazing feature.

Nokia N9 : Camera

The camera is quite impressive as it take beautiful pictures showing good color reproduction, fast focus and simple shooting mechanism works well. However i noticed that under low light condition the camera does not perform that well as expected, but this issue came out when i compared the result with my normal camera else it is unnoticeable. Off course the camera is not a DSLR rather its the top echelon of smartphone cameras.

Nokia N9 : Battery

Nokia N9 battery life is decent as most smartphones unless you use to its extremes, however if you use your phone as internet hotspot functionality the battery would be drained out within a day, otherwise it managed a couple of days with prompting a low battery notification.

Nokia N9 : Pricing

Nokia N9 is available in Pakistan market with a price tag of Rs.49,900.

Conclusion:

My complete experience with Nokia N9 on MeeGo 1.2 operating system was most continent and fascinating. If your wants are just limited and you’re after and excellent looking phone, N9 would be a fair deal, although Nokia’s going to have a head to head battle with most convincing mass market to buy N9 rather than consumer friendly iPhone 4S. In short, the best phone with a very limited future.

The mobile technology we use to communicate today has advanced significantly over the years; the SIM card technology started in 1991 when the first SIM card was made by a Munich smart-card maker. The first SIM card was the size of the standard credit card we use today, but a lot of changes and improvements have been made over the years. We now have numerous SIM card providers with various packages, and it takes a really smart or educated person to get the best SIM card deal.

If you’re tired of the offer your current ISP is giving you and you want a better offer, or if you’re planning to go for a new package and you want the very best this article will be giving you some of my best tips for negotiating with an ISP.

Go For a SIM Only Deal

One of the smartest decisions you can make to help you save money and get a better plan is to go for a SIM Only deal. Finding the right ISP that offer exactly what you want might be a little bit difficult, but no need to worry about this as I write for a website dedicated to helping people find the best SIM only contracts, and you can easily use them to get the best deals.

If you decide to go on a contract with any ISP today you will be given a SIM card and a mobile phone by default, and depending on the length of your contract, you will also be given the latest version of your mobile phone whenever you renew your contract. A SIM only deal is different, because you won’t be given a mobile phone, and as a result the price for a mobile phone won’t be added to your contract.

Subtract Unnecessary Services from Your Package

Another step you can take to help cut down on the amount you are charged every month for your mobile usage is to ask that services you don’t use be removed. For example, a lot of us pay for services we don’t use; for example, imagine someone without an internet enabled smartphone paying for internet every month without his or her knowledge. You can get rid of services you don’t use and save costs by asking your ISP to give you a list of the services included, and by asking them to remove those services you don’t use to give you a better offer.

Go For the "Pay As You Go" Plan

If your ISP is uncooperative or you just can’t afford to pay what you’re being charged you can easily use an alternative of going for the pay as you go plan. Unlike signing a long-term contract, the pay as you go plan ensures you only pay when you use a service; if you go for a plan like this you can be recharging your SIM card on a regular basis, and as a result you will only be using the credit on your phone to make phone calls and use other services.

This is a guest article written by Paul, a SIM card expert for SIM Only.

While surfing the web and social networking website you might have come across with images that are converted into ASCII art, Do you wish to convert your own picture into ASCII? You could find many different online tools which helps your conversation of image however AsciiFi does the same but with great speed.

The working of default ASCII is performed via uploading your images to their own servers and then tranforms the image pixel by pixel. Apart from that AsciiFi uses the latest HTML5 with in your browser and convert your uploads to Ascii character. All you have to drag and drop the image from your desktop to AsciiFi website.

If you are anxious to get to know the actual coding behind the tool you can find at GitHub. Enjoy your conversations and don’t forget to share your comments below.

Note: There is one catch. You will have to use a good browser — one like Google Chrome or Firefox. Safari doesn’t support the FileReader API, and, sadly, if you’re using an old version of IE, then you’ve come to the wrong place.

With over 120 million users in the United States alone, a lot more users in countries over the world, the cable internet is constantly growing in reach and popularity, and as a result it is currently ranked as the second predominant form of residential broadband internet access in the world, second only to the mobile broadband internet.

If we take a look at the situation we can come to the conclusion that the cable internet is so popular and widely used for so many reasons: for the speed it offers, how reliable it is, the kind of stability it provides, and how useful it can be. The problem, however, is that many people aren’t using their cable internet connection to the best effect because they don’t know what it is truly capable of, and this article will be listing 3 things you can use your cable internet for starting today.

Playing Games Online

Is it "World of Warcraft” or that latest new game on Facebook?

It has been shown that people spend an average of 7.3 hours playing online games every week, and that this number has increased significantly by 8 to 10 hours in the past year. The reason for this is so simple, with the increasing speed offered by ISPs, people are starting to see the real value of online games, and a lot more people are starting to invest their time in it. People play online games for so many reasons; some just for fun, some just to take the burden of a hard day’s work of their shoulders, and others, for financial gains. It doesn’t matter what your reason for playing online games is, you need a reliable internet service to be able to enjoy it, and that is extremely easy with a cable internet service.

Streaming Videos and Audios

In only a matter of years, Youtube has risen from an unknown website to the 3rd most visited website in the world, ranking higher than even Yahoo, and the reason is very simple – people love videos. There is every probability you prefer watching videos to any other format of content, and there is no reason why you should pay a fortune just to watch a quality video.

With the right cable internet service you don’t have to pay a fortune to stream videos and audios online, and you also don’t have to worry about going through hiccups in the process of watching a video or a live event.

The cable internet makes things extremely easy, and you can stream your favorite videos and audios from the comfort of your home.

Buying Things from Your Favorite Online Stores

Have you ever imagined how much time and money you can save in transportation costs if you decide to be using the internet for your every order instead of having to go outside for them?
