There is no doubt that iPhone is the first mover in operating system and also in helping touch smart phone to manufacture at mass production level. This meant, Google that created Android on the very much same design and functions as the iOS with the Open Set Alliance was a direct assault at the iOS. Being open source and made by wide variety of mobile phone manufacturers, iPhone was confronted with a multitude of companies with the same OS.

What many people didn’t know was that Steve Jobs hated Android and held a strong belief that it was plagiarized from their iOS. He was angry, frustrated and wanted to lay waste Android for what it was. He told his autobiographer that android was a grand theft and he was willing to go to any length to fight this war. He threatened the creators of android saying he would not leave this matter alone.

iPhone Vs Samsung

Apple Inc that has a business worth 8 billion dollars with Samsung on components sued the company over potential theft of design and copying the iPad designs. Samsung is not only one of the leading electronics manufacturers but also has Android OS in their tablets and cellular phones. One reason why tablets and Samsung phones have been able to capture market is not only the less cost relative to that offered by Apple Inc but also the OS. Many people now prefer to use Android and not iOS. This means the iOS which was meant to be the only one in the market faced stiff competition and also had to share the market with android based electronics which many companies like Samsung were making.

War of Attrition

Even though Apple Inc has sued both Samsung and Motorola companies for the usage of Android it may be as vulnerable to damages as these two companies. Since the days of Steve Jobs when the litigation against other companies accused of stealing or duplicating Apple Inc technology, the company has also lost many rounds. The reason it has become a war of attrition is that all companies involved in the legal battle may have to pay damages if the court rules in favor of any one of them. That is to say Apple may have to face remaking or paying for its technology that it has fundamentally said was copied.

The Fight Continues

Even if these companies do come together after a settlement, the battle between Google Android and iOS of Apple is likely to go on forever. They both will be in the race to get market shares in both the tablet and smartphone platforms. Android being supplied freely and being open source has a tremendous advantage that it is used by many of the major electronics manufacturers and it can easily take the market share. Also the fact that Android has more apps on its free category in the Google play, the alternative to the app market, it poses great threat to the iPhone sales.

Unlike the smartphone segment of the modern market, the PMP (Personal Media Player) segment of the market is not as nearly as exciting as it would be if the iPod Touch had some real competition all over the world. Well, Samsung has announced that they will be releasing a new PMP called the Galaxy Player 70 plus, and this new version of Samsung’s previous PMP will probably be released in the second quarter of 2012.

So, Will the Galaxy Player 70 Plus Be a Real Threat to the iPod?

Let’s see… Apple got a bit lazy the last time when they decided to release a new version of the famous iPod Touch and basically added no significant changes to this still pretty popular gadget. Many iPod enthusiasts were not very pleased when they found out that Apple only added a new white version of the gadget – and this was pretty much all they changed. So, will the Galaxy Player 70 Plus be a threat to iPod? Well, yes and no. Namely, Samsung new PMP has been announced in March 2012, and it was announced only for the South Korean market. This means that the western markets will not be affected by this release just yet, and Apple still has time to think about releasing the new version of the iPod along with the rumored release of the iPhone 5.

Samsung’s First Dual-Core Processor PMP

Samsung was not the first company to release a dual-core processor PMP because Sony beat them to this. However, the Galaxy Player 70 Plus is the first Samsung’s dual-core processor powered PMP, working at 1 GHz. The dual-core 1 GHz processor will bring a completely different experience to users, as they will be able to do more things on the 70 Plus, both simultaneously and generally. This powerful processor will offer them a chance to stream videos effortlessly, as well as use all the other functions of this PMP without any problems at all when it comes to speed and convenience.

What Else Does the Galaxy Player 70 Plus Have to Offer?

There is a 5-megapixel camera with the resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels, and features such as Geo tagging, face detection, LED Flash, and so on. The 5-inch touchscreen has the resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and 16 million colors, as well as the multi touch feature. When it comes to memory, users will not be disappointed. Namely, this PMP has a 16 and a 32 GB version, and also features a MicroSD slot that supports memory cards of up to 32 GB. The PMP uses Androids Gingerbread operating system.

Is This PMP Worth Considering?

With announced prices of around $360 (16 GB) and $420 (32 GB), the Samsung Galaxy Player 70 Plus will not exactly be a bargain. Even though many people mistake this for a smartphone, the fact is that this gadget has no GSM support, so you will have to carry your cell phone with you along with the Galaxy Player 70 Plus – so the choice is up to you.

The big day today, cheers to US residents as many of you might not know that today Samsung Galaxy S II will be official launching from New York city. Samsung Galaxy S II fans were already being waited for the device since its previous sneak release in April. You guys lucky to have your hands on over Galaxy S II, still a wait for international fans.

Exclusively a couple of minutes earlier the long-awaited declaration, Samsung delivers outed info on Sprint’s variant for the Samsung Galaxy S II. This device will be called the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch, and the specs seem to be similar to the international version.

A considerable difference is that, Epic 4G Touch comes with 4.52 inch display, that’s pretty big enough, which merely depends upon your choice either you like big screen for smatphones or the small ones. In my point of view the Super AMOLED Plus screen will be suitable for media, videos and gaming lovers.

More specifications from the images, Stay tuned with iTechGiz for more information on Samsung Galaxy S II to be announced this day.

As the first handset to run Samsung’s very own operating system, Bada, the Wave was set to be one of the most exciting releases of 2010. Alongside the various other features of Samsung phones that make them such a joy to use this phone was seemingly going to be a model that could front the market for some time. A risky maneuver perhaps on the part of Samsung but with an operating system supported by a 1GHz Hummingbird processor, also developed by Samsung, the design of the software would have to go seriously awry for this handset to be a disappointment.

The phone has stylish, high quality look about it, with its thin chassis and Super AMOLED 480x800px screen dominating the front of the body. The technology put into this screen has surprised many users of the other Samsung phones that have adopted it.

The Samsung Touchwiz system is something that is also unique to Samsung and whilst it is intuitive, it takes some experience to navigate around it efficiently and become aware of all of its functions. The aim of the game in the contemporary smart phone market seems to be individuality and the Wave has been a blatant attempt at just that. Whilst the external design of a phone seems to be governed by the fleeting winds of fashion, operating systems seemed to be driven by a slightly more complex genius.

By developing their own operating systems, Touchwiz technology and processing power Samsung have created a model that stands completely on its own in the market.

A high quality, high end, high spec handset, the Wave manages to retain the necessary features of a good smart phone whilst expressing a unique personality.

Perfect for the consumer who wishes to break away from the standard high end handsets and experience something different and altogether more unique. Compare mobile phone deals online at Dialaphone.co.uk and you could find yourself a fantastic new phone today.
