The gaming geeks are waiting for Sony to announce the upcoming latest gadget which is the integration of a phone and a game called Playstation Phone, but before that Sony has planned to announced an official Playstation app for Apple iPhone and Android smartphone users.

Sony has announced its application for both Android as well as iOS devices which is supportable for Android 1.6 later and for iOS 4 or above devices. The app lets you connected with your Playstation network tropies, search for the latest games in the market, get recent news as well you can get the latest hardware for your PS3, PSP or PS2 console.

The app is yet to be available for FREE in UK, France, Netherlands, Spain, Germany and Italy. Well there is no official announcement heard from the company for the release date of the app, but it seems that Sony is waiting for Apple to approve the app.

Its time to get some more details on the prototype of Playstation PSP Phone that was rumored as Sony’s big move on handset platform. Sony had planned to integrate the concept of gaming and multimedia with cellphone i.e called Playstation PSP Phone. The guys over at Engadget appears to review the gadget with some prototype snap shot.

The device is expected to run Android 3.0 codename Gingerbread with Sony app Marketplace. Rumored specs for the device include 3.7 to 4.1 inch display screen with 1GB ROM and 512 RAM running on a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 chipset. There is a support for microSD cards on the side, while the device is reported to be rather buggy and is headed for 2010 release, meanwhile 2011 looks mush more realistic.

In past we have carried out many jailbreak for Apple products like iPhone and iPod Touch, but today we have bought a jailbreak for Sony’s product. This is a Sony Playstation PS3 jailbreak which can be easily carried out using a USB Modchip. Below there are couple of steps to follow for the jailbreak:

Before You Jailbreak !!

• Before starting make sure your have Playstation 3 with firmware 3.41 or later.
• You must have original disc of any PS3 game that you want to backup.
• You have to purchase PS Jailbreak USB Modchip from ChipSpain or OzModChip.
• You need to download Backup Manager file for PS3 and insert into any USB/HDD port.

You Are Ready to Jailbreak Now !!

Step 1: Make sure Blu-Ray disc tray is empty and properly shut down your console.

• For PS3 Fat : Turn off console from the power switch.
• For PS3 Slim : Before inserting the USB into port, eject the power cord from console.

Step 2: Now plug the USB ModChip into the console USB/HDD port and power ON console.

Step 3: Once the power reaches USB, you would see two LED light, one of the either (Red/Green) will light up.

If Green LED blinks up, it means you have successfully Jailbreak your PS.

If Red LED blinks up, it means if you made a mistake, repeat step 1 to 3 again and remember to press “Eject” button simultaneously with Power On button.

Once your Green light pop’s up, know you are ready to move further.

Step 4: Insert your USB/HDD flash drive which contains the Backup Manager File.

Step 5: From Game Menu, select “Install Package Files” and then select “manager.pkg”

Step 6: Once the backup manager file loads successfully, a new application will be displayed on your Game menu screen.

Step 7: Now execute the backup manager app which you have just installed.

Step 8: Insert the original game disc and press “O” where you will be asked to create a backup on internal HDD or some where else.

Step 9: You will see the backed up game laying under Game menu, Execute it, and now you won’t require to insert original disc.

Note: Whenever you run the game, make sure your console is ready inserted with PS Jailbreak USB ModChip.

Rumors spreading after the leaked images of the next re-designed portable gaming entertainment, it’s the all new Sony Playstation Portable (PSP). According to the information from Eurogamer and Engadget the new PSP is more or less of the same dimension as the previous PSP-3000 but the new version will be touch controlled.

Yes the new PSP will be touch screen based as it will feature touch controls on the rear side of the console.  Sure as shooting, it will experience an good-looking LCD screen with all the touch enabled controllers on the back will add a cherry on top.

At current, Sony is presenting the new console design only to developers and publishers to get their hands on at the moment. However the release date is based on ventures and no official date yet confirmed,  different people have different thought’s some quotes the release will be next year, while other says it is just a concept and will acquire couple of months to be released. Sony declares no comments on release date.

Well lets hope for some official news from Sony regarding the console. Touch controls at the back gives an odd look to the console but as these are the leaked images of the device. Well the new PSP won’t be a disappointment for the gamers.
